Linda Ruis is a member of the Iipay Nation of Santa Ysabel and has worked for her tribe for the last 20 years as the Director of Social Services. ICWA has been her life’s passion and she has worked to improve services to tribal communities and has proven to be one of the fiercest advocates for tribal children and families.
Prior to working for her tribe, Linda served as the Director of Social Services for Southern Indian Health Council in Alpine, which was one of the first comprehensive prevention programs in Southern California at that time. She is still committed to making sure that children are taken care of and have a voice and that voice is heard.
Linda donates her time, serving on several boards related to ICWA and tribal families and is part of Tribal STARS leadership Team. She enjoys spending time with her two Grandchildren Daniel Tsosie and RiaLynn Tsosie.
