About Us
Acorns to Oak Trees is non-profit Tribal Organization that is registered within the state of California, currently in the process of obtaining non-profit 501 (c) 3 exempt status. We are striving to become a place of educational refuge and resource for tribal children and families who have been underserved by traditional service providers.
Acorns to Oak Trees is grounded in the belief that it takes a village to raise a child, but also a village to restore one. We invite you to join us in our “Restore the Village” movement!
MISSION
Our mission is to help restore the village and provide Native American children and families with a village of support through education, nutrition, and culturally tailored therapies they need to heal, grow, and thrive.
VISION
Our vision is to cultivate an environment where every Native family is cared for spiritually, morally, intellectually, physically, socially and emotionally.
Core Values
At Acorns, we prioritize our core values of passion, relationships, and village. We believe our passion and commitment to advocate for the tribal community is the first step in change and growth. By establishing and maintaining relationships between tribal communities and state and county agencies, we yearn to better serve tribal children and families with special needs.
Often times tribal communities are underserved, therefore we seek to strengthen each tribal community by expanding their village of support by providing them with our culturally tailored programming and therapeutic interventions.
PASSION
In order to be effective and bring about change and growth, we believe that it must first start with a passion and heartfelt purpose. Our purpose and passion are simple, we love our children and are committed to fighting for and providing them with the resources and services they need to heal, grow, and thrive.
RELATIONSHIPS
We need a collaborative solution to solve a systemic problem; therefore, Acorns to Oak Trees works to cultivate relationships between tribal communities and state and county agencies to better serve tribal families and tribal children with special needs.
VILLAGE
Often times tribal communities are underserved because most agencies and systems of care don’t understand how they operate and are ill-equipped to make lasting change because their focus is just on the service they provide.
Acorns to Oak Trees seeks to strengthen each tribal community through a holistic approach that focuses on their individual needs and provides them with a “village” of supportive service providers to meet their special needs and maximize their growth and learning potential.
